Thank you Ms Niv for this thought provoking newsletter ! We have just celebrated our Independence Day . What constitutes independence ? How do we infuse a sense of patriotism in our children ? Relevant questions !
Freedom is best defined as a condition of being free , the power to act or speak or think without restraints .
The images of a child’s right and responsibilities are spot on .
Listening to the young Trisha Unni Krishnan thoughts on Freedom of speech and being offensive was an eye opener .
A lot amongst us think it’s acceptable .While I understand that on one hand there has to a balance of competing interests. On the other people should be able to speak freely without fear of litigation over every insult, disagreement, or mistake.
This thought for this week resonates “Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.”
~~Gandhi
